What is the incubation period of bacterial spinal menigitis?

I have a neighbor that is in school and she needs help on an ignment. She needs to know when you get spinal menigitis how long does it actually take before the symptoms take place. Please help me on this it will really help me and my neighbor . Thanks sooo much.
