Is Johnny Depp or Leonardo DiCaprio.....?

If Johnny Depp is a veratile actor..how come almost all of his roles aren't normal? Shouldn't a versatile actor be able to do normal roles, too? Leonardo can pull of being retarded to being madly in love with a girl to an FBI agent to whatever role he has ever played...which goes to show that Leonardo Dicaprio is the more versatile actor. All Johnny Depp ever does (but he's still hot, though) is play a weird barber, a weird chocolate factory owner, a weird pirate, a weird author or whatever.
