Does anyone have a translation of the lyrics for the bossa nova song "P'ra Machucar Meu Cora��o"?

This song sounds very pretty to me as sung by Joao Gilberto on the Getz/Gilberto album but I dont know what it means because it is written in Portuguese. It has been rewritten due to having an awkward translation for English performances such as that by Susannah McCorkle but I dont know that the rewrites convey the same meaning. I wanted to see if anyone has a translation of the original song or knows what the song was about. Thanks!
